Summer Camp 2020

Summer Camps for 2020 have been canceled.

The staff have worked hard to synthesize COVID-19 related safety policies. Though there is full confidence in these policies, the risk associated with holding prolonged, intimate gatherings during an active outbreak in the state of Arizona outweighs the intended mitigation of the precautions. As a science based organization, we are confident that this decision is in the best interest of our community’s public health and safety.
We will be actively planning programs for youth (and adults) designed to align with our mission, but also to respond to the direct needs of our community moving forward. Please check in frequently to see what opportunities we can provide in the future.

Summer Sprouts (PreK-K, Ages 4-6)

Summer Sprouts spend a fun-filled week outside where they play, gather, create, explore, and learn during this half-day camp based at the Highlands Center. Campers observe and interpret patterns in nature, learn about animal behavior and the amazing plants that make the Highlands so special.  They will play games, do crafts, and make new friends!

Jr. Naturalists (Grades 7-8, Ages 12-13)

There’s a reason we call this group the Junior Naturalists!  These young scientists will be outside all day, fine tuning their observation skills by looking for patterns in the way organisms interact and compete with each other to obtain the resources they need to survive.  If your child wants to make new friends, play games, explore their creative side, collect data, or just be outside all week, this is the place to be!
