This Highlands Center Happening is a community-wide event that takes place each fall and can be completed at the participant’s own pace. People from all over the state come to Prescott to hike 8 out of 10 trails within the Prescott National Forest and the City of Prescott.

2025 Info & Rules

Saturday, September 6th through Monday, December 1st

This year’s spree dates are September 6th through December 1st. The Hiking Spree Kickoff event is at the Highlands Center, Saturday, September 6th at 7:30 am. Check off one of the Hiking Spree hikes with other hiking enthusiasts!

Hike, or attempt, 8 out of 10 of the hikes before December 1st to be entered into a raffle. Purchase a special commemorative hiking spree patch from the Benson Family Nature Store for $5! Hikes can be submitted online or in person at our nature store.

Please bring your breakfast, trail snacks, water, and hiking poles if desired, and wear sturdy hiking shoes and weather-appropriate layers. Do keep in mind that parking is limited and subject to availability.
