Our day programs

Immerse kids in the wonders of nature through hiking, experiments, games, and nature-based activities. Designed to spark curiosity and build a connection with nature, these programs let students discover wildlife, plants, and the natural world around them, one adventure at a time.

Who Can Join?

Children ages 3–5 who are fully restroom independent. Pinecone Pals is led by our expert team: an Early Childhood Education Coordinator and an Early Childhood Educator, both highly experienced in outdoor education for young children. All staff are fingerprinted, background checked, CPR & First Aid certified, and deeply passionate about early childhood and nature-based learning.

What to Expect:

Each session includes:

  • Nature walks & forest exploration.
  • Insect exploration and wildlife discovery.
  • Crafts, songs, games, and seasonal themes.
  • Forest adventures, curiosity quests, and making new friends.

When & Where?

Tuesdays, January 13th- February 17th at The Highlands Center for Natural History.

Drop off at 9:00 AM – Pick up at 1:00 PM.

Winter Session includes 6 themed mornings of adventure.

Please note that this program is entirely outdoors, kiddos should come prepared for the winter weather!

Please note: Registration includes all 6 sessions.

Children should come prepared with a backpack, water bottle, lunch & snacks, and weather-appropriate layers (we explore rain or shine!) A full “what to bring” list will be shared via email.
