Nature education through kids programs

Youth, Family, and School Programs

The Highlands Center offers programs and events for 3-13-year olds and families throughout the year out on our trails and in our Discovery Gardens. Some examples are our Discovery Saturdays, Knee High Naturalist program and Nature Camps. For our full list of upcoming events, please view our calendar.

The Highlands Center also works with local public, private, and charter schools through our year-round school programs.

Family Fun Events

The Highlands Center for Natural History offers a wide range of family events and educational programs for people of all ages. From special guest presentations to games and crafts, our programs have something for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Highlands Nature Camps

The Highlands Nature Camps are a meaningful way for children of all ages to spend time learning about nature in an informative and playful setting. Discovering the mysteries of the animals, plants, and land of the Highlands often inspires a new love and understanding of nature among campers.

School Programs

The Highlands Center works with local public, private, and charter schools through our year-round school programs. Highlands Center School Programs are a special point of pride, and are the longest running and most requested.  The Highlands Center’s field trips and  Schoolyard Habitat Program are wonderful ways to help students have positive outdoor learning experiences.
