Naturalist Walk : Rainwater Harvesting

September 21 at 8:30 am - 10:00 am

with Fred Oswald

Come shake off the week with this Saturday morning hike!

Water conservation is an important issue in throughout Arizona. Water is being withdrawn from regional aquifers at over twice the recharge rate.  The water level has dropped.  Private wells on the edge of the aquifer are going dry.   About half of summer household water is used outdoors and thus lost to evaporation.  On this short walk, we’ll see ways to harvest rainwater for use on landscaping, in both active and passive systems.

Program is FREE.
