Experience Shakespeare at the Highlands Center’s beautiful outdoor amphitheater. Proceeds support nature-based educational programs for children.

The picturesque, natural setting of Ponderosa pines is the site for The Merry Wives of Winslow, Shakespeare’s tale of Falstaff in love…in the old west! The boisterous Sir John Falstaff comes to the small town of Winslow, bringing a taste for beef, beer and other men’s wives. Clever Mistress Ford and wily Mistress Page instantly see through his amorous ploys and use them to set him up and take him for a ride.
We are making several adaptations to our traditional program to allow for a safer, more intimate experience. The attendance at each performance will be limited . The optional meal from El Gato Azul is a delicious boxed picnic supper, including wine, beer and other beverages (ticket price includes 2 drink tickets.) Guests will be invited to dine at small tables scattered throughout the entirety of the James Family Discovery Gardens, creating an intimate dining experience within the beauty of the Discovery Gardens.
The Merry Wives of Winslow will still take place in the Kiwanis Amphitheater. The proceeds from these tickets will support the center’s nature-based children’s programs.
