Summer Camps, Nature Walks and Jazz

As Monsoon season comes to the Central Highlands, it is a perfect time to get out hike. Our Naturalist-led walks are now on Thursdays also. The Center’s Summer F.U.N. F.U.N. (Friends Understanding Nature) Camp:
The Highlands Center’s F.U.N. camps are a wonderful way for children to spend a week of their summer while learning to wonder, discover, explore, and play. We have added camps this year so be sure to visit our website for dates and details! Sponsored by Credit Union West.
Bird walk with Prescott Audubon Society – Free. Saturday, July 9, 7:30 AM—all are welcome.
Howlin’ at the Highlands Jazz Concert – Saturday, July 9, 7:00 PM, $20.00 with Guest Vocalist Dennis Rowland
Evening Forest Walk – Friday, July 15, 7:00 PM. Bring the whole family for an evening adventure exploring the forest as it transitions from day to night.
Mushroom Madness – Saturday, July 30, 9:30AM -12:00PM. Dive into the fungi kingdom with NAU mycologist Eric Nelson. The monsoon season is the perfect time to discover where you can seek local mushroom varieties, and learn which are tasty and which are deadly! Field trip depends on weather conditions. Registration required. $15 (10% discount for Members)
Member Family Picnic – Saturday, July 30, 11:30AM to 2:30PM. FREE to members. Join fellow Highlands Center members for free food and fun at our annual Members Family Day Picnic. Families will also get a peek into what our F.U.N. campers discovered throughout the summer.
