2023 Central Highlands Master Naturalist Cohort
January 3rd-April 13th 2023
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings (6:30-8pm) on Zoom and select Saturdays in-person.
The course fee is $525.
The Central Highlands Master Naturalist Program is a leadership development certification course designed to supplement natural and cultural history training, docent programs, and volunteer service opportunities available in communities across the state. This course includes an overview of scientific concepts, natural history in the Central Highlands of Arizona, and best practices related to local volunteer opportunities. Completing this course results in statewide certification. The program is a 60-hour experiential course, including 25% of the course participating in hands-on field labs. After completing this course, participants can become Arizona Master Naturalists. Arizona Master Naturalists go on to engage with volunteer opportunities that include:
- education and interpretation
- stewardship, including restoration and conservation
- citizen science
- program development and leadership
