Our art classes are an excellent place for beginners and experienced artists to learn and practice their skills in nature observation and illustration. Classes are offered throughout the year and range from series to a single program.

Colored Pencil Drawing Series

Summer months in the Arizona Highlands are characterized by heat, moisture, and monsoons. Diane Iverson returns this August to instruct the third colored-pencil series of 2019. Grow your skills by learning illustrative techniques that feature the natural wonders of this tumultuous season.

Participants need to bring the following materials:
9×12 Bristol Vellum drawing pad
Pencil sharpener
Kneaded eraser
Faber Castell or Prismacolor colored pencil set

When: August 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16 | 9:00 am-12:00 pm
Where: Highlands Center of Natural History – James Learning Center Classroom*
If weather permits, this class may be held in the open-air Ramada within the Discovery Gardens.*
Cost: $25 per class; $132 for the entire series; 10% Discount for Members
