Wander the Wild:  Online Auction

The Highlands Center for Natural History’s 12th Annual Wander the Wild will be an on-line event in 2020! As you may know, this event raises funds for the HCNH youth educational programs which typically touch 10,000 children annually through on and off-site programs. While current challenges related to Covid-19 have resulted in the pause of many programs, we are committed to assuring that future programs and staffing remain well funded.

We are excited to offer the auction through an easy to utilize on-line format through 32Auctions.com. Facebook live events on the Highlands Center’s site will launch the auction at 11:45 am on September 19 and do the raffle drawings and close the auction at 5:00 pm on September 27.

The on-line format allows us to expand our offerings beyond our usual 46 packages. While we have local, regional and international opportunities, we have emphasized local outdoor experiences and services.

Now, more than ever, we ask for the support of our community in making this event the most successful yet! Stay tuned for more information on the auction.

2019 Wander the Wild: Another Success!

Our 2019 Wander the Wild was another resounding success with smiling and engaged attendees enjoying the gorgeous setting and the 46 fantasticly diverse auction packages offered in the live auction. As anticipated, the international travel packages prompted the most vigorous bidding and raised the most for our youth programs!  These included two 1-week stays for either 6 or 8 to revel in a Pacific Coast resort in Nicaragua,  an amazing Photo safari for 2 to Zululand in South Africa, and a delightful week in a Tuscan Villa in Manciano for 4.  Local experiences had robust bidding too!  Beyond the international packages, three auction packages netted the most proceeds:  a one-week stay for 2 in a Luxury Scottsdale Condo at the Westland Kieran Villas, a Tastes of the Southwest Dinner for 8, and a 2 night stay at Brenda’s Place at the Painted Lady Vineyard in Skull Valley.
Sincere thanks to all who attended for your generosity in support of the Highlands Center’s youth programs.
