Our Trails

Prescott National Forest Hiking Trails

Our Lynx Creek campus site on South Walker Road (off Highway 69 just east of Prescott Gateway Mall) features three miles of hiking trails with free parking. Both the Stretch Pebble Loop and Highlands Trail  loop provide restroom facilities for convenience. These two trails connect to other Prescott National Forest trails for visitor access to Lynx Lake and environs.

No entrance fee is charged but donations are welcomed.

Stretch-Pebble Loop

The best trail for first time visitors, those with young children, or for those with disabilities. It features the fantastic “Stretch Pebble Conglomerate” outcrop interpretive stop. A written interpretive guide is available for this ¾-mile accessible trail.

Highlands Trail

The Highlands Trail (#442) is a 1.5 mile loop with moderate inclines and a 360-degree view of the Lynx Creek and Prescott Basin area at the highest point above the Center. Our interpretive guide offers insights into the unique geologic and historic features of the site.
