Prescott Hiking Trails
The Highlands Center | Prescott Hiking Trails Access Points
Our Lynx Creek campus site on South Walker Road features three miles of hiking trails in the Prescott National Forest. We have full guides available for free download of our two most popular hiking trails, the Stretch-Pebble Loop and the Highlands Trail Loop. Complimentary copies of these trail guides are available to you at our nature store. Both of the loop trails have restroom facilities available for your convenience. Free parking is offered for easy access to these Prescott hiking trails at our facility. Our two trails connect to other hiking trails within the Prescott National Forest for visitor access to Lynx Lake and surrounding environs.
No entrance fee is charged but donations are welcomed.
The best trail for first time visitors, those with young children, or for those with disabilities. It features the fantastic “Stretch Pebble Conglomerate” outcrop interpretive stop. A written interpretive guide is available for this ¾-mile accessible trail.
The Highlands Trail (#442) is a 1.5 mile loop with moderate inclines and a 360-degree view of the Lynx Creek and Prescott Basin area at the highest point above the Center. Our interpretive guide offers insights into the unique geologic and historic features of the site.
