Join us for Summer Camp! Spend an exciting week learning about nature in an informative and playful setting, discovering the mysteries of the animals, plants, and land of the Highlands.

Camps are offered for PreK-8th graders.

Summer Sprouts (PreK-K)

A New Awareness
These Sprouting naturalists will begin to investigate their natural surroundings through observations and exploration. Students will explore the meaning of home for both people and other living things. The Summer Sprouts will also begin to identify the important interaction between living and non-living things in their local environment.

Wild Explorers (Grades 1-2)

From a Different View
Campers will take on new perspectives each day as a different animal, investigating to develop awareness of how animals live day to day. Through group activities and exploration students will also find and solve clues left behind by our wild neighbors to support learning about their behaviors.

Outdoor Investigators (Grades 3-4)

My Connection to the Highlands
We make friends with others by getting to know them and building connections that form the basis for relationships. Campers will spend the week meeting the plants and animals of the forest, making connections, and building relationships with them.

Highlands Adventurists (Grades 5-6)

Highlands Adventurists: Myth Busters
There are many animals that live throughout the Highlands, some loved, but some not so loved. During their week of camp students will learn about common misconceptions of some of our most underappreciated neighbors. Each day will focus on a specific animal and as campers investigate and explore, they will discover the importance of each animal and the roles that they play in in the various ecosystems of the Central Arizona Highlands.

Jr. Naturalists (Grades 7-8)

Oh, the places we’ll go!
Trailblaze with us in the beautiful Prescott National Forest. Campers will explore several of the unique ecosystems of the Central Highlands and experience first-hand the amazing diversity of habitats we have. Each day of camp will present new opportunities for nature study and a richer understanding of the ecosystems we share.

Scholarship Information

Highlands Nature Camp Scholarship Policy
Scholarships are limited to one scholarship per child per year, whether it is for one Spring or Fall Break program, Summer Camp, or Knee-High Naturalists sessions. Scholarships are limited to two children per family per year.
