Dave Irvine – Executive Director

Graduate Work in Outdoor Education Antioch College
Former Chief Education Officer and Director of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association Environmental Education Center
Former Executive Director of Crown Point Farm & Education Center
Joined the Center as Executive Director January 2008 from Ohio.
Fiona Reid

Fiona Reid, Education Director

Fiona Reid is responsible for the education programs of the Center. Fiona graduated from Prescott College with a major in environmental studies. As a result of her study on Rachel Carson, she performs chautauquas of Carson. She is also the author of A Trail through Scrub Oak: A Natural History of the Interior Chaparral.  Fiona has a strong background and interest in environmental education. Her career also includes landscape gardener, chef, and owner/operator of a catering business in Zambia.
Cindy Scott
Cindy Scott, Outreach Coordinator

Cindy is responsible for Highlands Center community outreach, membership development, and fundraising. She graduated from Yavapai College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Agriculture Technology Management and holds a certificate in Wildlife/Forestry Conservation.  Prior to working for the Highlands Center, Cindy worked for many years in administration in the accounting and tax fields. Cindy also worked as an Instructional Aide for the University of Arizona Yavapai County Cooperative Extension and helped implement the Water Education for Teachers program (Project WET) in Yavapai County.
Lisa Packard

Lisa Packard, Habitat Learning Coordinator

Lisa
holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Education, completed graduate coursework in education, has taught a wide range of subjects and grade levels from kindergarten through college, and speaks both Spanish and French. In addition to classroom experience, she has taught environmental education in outdoor programs similar to those found at the Highlands Center. During her master’s degree program at Prescott College, she studied Common Roots, a model for integrating gardening into all K-12 subject areas. 



 

Kathi Stevens
Kathi Stevens, Office Manager

Kathi is a nationally certified medical massage therapist and holds an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Washington College in Chicago.  Kathi has taken college courses in horticulture, psychotherapy, computer science and wants to be a Formula 1 race care driver when she grows up. She moved to Prescott Valley from San Diego in January of 2006 and began working with the Center in February 2007.
  She is also Trauma Intervention Program volunteer.
Richard Bailey, Facilities Manager

Richard is responsible for the building operations and grounds of the Center.  Richard served in the United States Marine Corp as a communications specialist in addition to obtaining a BA in Human Services/Education.  He also worked in social services for troubled youth and taught pre-school children in a Montessori-based environment.  Richard has worked for Bethel Social Services in Alaska serving Eskimo families as well as establishing the Prescott Food Bank.  Ever expanding his capabilities, Richard has worked with a landscape firm, a bicycle shop, served as volunteer co-chair of the Non-Profit Sector for the United Way Campaign, and was a member of the steering committee for the 1993 CROP Hunger Walk. 

The Highlands Center for Natural History helps children and adults discover the wonders of nature and become wise caretakers of the land.
