The Highlands Center for Natural History offers a wide range of outdoor learning activities and educational programs for people of all ages. From Naturalist Field walks to learning with our children in the outdoors, our programs have something for all outdoor enthusiasts.
Spring into Action
Family Night April 7
Bring the whole family to explore the amazing transitions of plants and animals from winter to spring. Interactive activities, walks, crafts, and much more for all ages!
Knee High Naturalists
Explore the Prescott National Forest with your Knee High Naturalist (3 and 4 year-olds) and open your eyes to the ‘little big world’ of the Central Arizona Highlands. Learn about the local animals and how they live in this unique environment.
Naturalist Field Walks
Spark the whole families “natural” curiosity with our trained volunteer Naturalists as they take you on a journey through the Central Arizona Highlands! Each FREE Walk can be up to 1.5 hours long, and Naturalists can adapt walks to participant’s needs and desires.
