Art Classes

Art Classes are an excellent place for beginners and experienced artists to learn and practice their skills in nature observation and illustration. Classes are offered throughout the year and range from series to a single program.

Winterscapes: Colored Pencil Series

with Diane Iverson

This winter, join Diane as she leads students through techniques of capturing the drama of the Arizona Highlands winter landscapes. The class will work from photos of inspirational local landscapes, as well as some more intimate details of nature. All levels are welcome!

Participants will need to bring their own 9×12 Bristol Vellum drawing pad, pencil sharpener, kneaded eraser, & Faber Castell or Prismacolor colored pencils.

Where: Highlands Center for Natural History

When: January 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19| 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Cost$132 for all 6 classes; $25 for each class

  • Mondays – Winter Highland Landscapes
  • Wednesdays – Winter Details of Nature
  • Fridays – Winter Wildlife

Class participants can get 10% off at The Art Store if they mention they are participating in the class.
